Premier Jet Training is approved by the Department of Homeland Security – Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to provide training to non US Citizens and foreign nationals. The applicant will need approval from the TSA before commencing simulation and aircraft training. You may also need a US entry visa, student visa, or training visa to enter or stay in the United States during your flight training. Guidance and information for TSA training approval
Steps to sign up for the TSA aircraft training background check:
- Candidate Notifies Flight School by filling in an application
- Candidate Creates Login. The candidate is required to create a login account at https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov. A user ID is provided immediately after submitting the required information, and a password is sent via e-mail (time may vary on receiving the password – possibly 12 to 24 hours). If you already have a account with the TSA from a previous application, please use your previous log-in information.
- Candidate Applies for Training. After receiving his or her password, the candidate will be instructed to change it. The candidate then logs into the TSA student registration page at https://www.flightschoolcandidates.gov and continues the application process.
The candidate will be required to submit the following information:
- Background Information. Full name, gender, current address and five-year address history, date and country of birth, and citizenship information.
- Passport Information. Foreign applicants are required to have a passport. A candidate must scan his or her complete passport and submit it to TSA electronically in the application.
- Basic information including the name of the school: Premier Training Center, LLC.
- Course name (choose the course you are applying for)

- Choose a start date at least 5 days ahead of your date of application
- Choose your end date at least 6 months after the start date This allows you to deal with contingencies and not have to re-apply for training.
Upon completion of the application, the candidate will be prompted to click on the “validate and submit” icon. If any errors appear in the application, the candidate will be instructed to make any necessary corrections or complete any missing information. After making any changes, the candidate clicks on “submit application.” Furthermore, after submitting the application, and for the application to proceed further, the candidate must select “I agree” or “I disagree” after reviewing important information regarding his or her application.
Fingerprints: This will be completed upon arrival at the flight school. If you already have your fingerprints submitted from a previous TSA approval, your finger prints are already on file and there is no need to submit them again.

Visa notice: Taking flight training without an appropriate visa could be a violation of your immigration status and could result in your arrest and removal from the United States; therefore, it is important that you have a visa that permits you to take flight training in the United States. If you do not possess the correct visa, or if you have questions pertaining to your visa status or the appropriate visas for flight training, please contact us.
The training provider is required by federal law to verify your citizenship before you start practical simulator or aircraft training. The approved documents for verification are:
- Valid, unexpired U.S. Passport.
- Original birth certificate of the United States, American Samoa, or Swains Islands, and a government issued photo ID, such as an U.S. identification card or a U.S. drivers license.
- Original certification of birth abroad with raised seal (Form FS-545 or DS-1350) and government-issued picture ID, such as an U.S. identification card or a U.S. drivers license.
- Original certificate of U.S. citizenship with raised seal (Form N-560 or N-561), or a Certificate of Repatriation (Form N-581), and government-issued picture ID, such as an US identification card or a US drivers license.
- Original U.S. Naturalization Certificate with raised seal (Form N-550 or N-570) and a government-issued picture ID, such as an U.S. identification card or a U.S. drivers license.
Pilot license conversion from non-FAA pilot license to FAA pilot license
Part 61.75 in the Federal Aviation Regulations makes provision for licensed foreign pilots of any ICAO member state to apply for an FAA Pilot License, issued on the basis of your foreign license.
Here are the steps to follow to apply for, get a FAA pilot license, and activate your FAA pilot license.
- Go to this website and download the PDF form: http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/foreign_license_verification/
- Fill out the form and send it to the FAA along with copies of your foreign license, an English transcript of your license (if necessary), and a copy of your medical certificate or endorsements (make sure all documents are current according to your governments civil aviation authority rules).Send to: Airmen Certification Branch, AFS-760, PO BOX 25082, Oklahoma City, OK 73125-0082 or fax the form and documents to (405) 954-9922.
- Please put the Orlando Flight Standards District Office, FSDO SO-15, as the location where you intend to make application for your FAA pilot license if you fly into Orlando. Please put the Miami Flight Standards District Office, FSDO-19, as the location where you intend to make application for your FAA pilot license if you fly into Miami.
- Once the documents have been received by the FAA (via postal mail or fax), please allow 60 days for processing.
- After the FAA has processed your request, they will send you a Letter of Authenticity. You must bring this letter with you when you arrive at the FSDO. Please make sure you also bring all other pilot documentation with you as well (ie: foreign PPL, English transcript, medical certificate or endorsement, logbook) and a picture ID (ie: Driver’s License, passport).
- You will need to register for an IACRA account before seeing the FAA inspector at the FSDO to get your new FAA pilot license. IACRA stands for Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application and is the system the FAA uses each time a pilot applies for a new airman certificate or rating. Here are the steps to follow:
- Go to http://iacra.faa.gov/iacr
- Read through any notices or other important information on the home page.
- Click the button labeled: “Register” located on the right-hand side of the home page.
- Click on “Applicant” and then click “Next”.
- The very first question which asks you if you currently hold an airman certificate, click the button labeled “No”.
- Fill in all of the personal information, security questions and answers, user name and password, etc. and then click “Register”. You will then be assigned an “FTN”: The FTN (FAA Tracking Number) is assigned to you by the FAA after you complete your registration in IACRA. Please record your FTN as it will be required later by your instructor and/or certifying officer. Write your FTN in your logbook where it will be accessible any-time you need it.
- Upon your arrival in the U.S., Premier Jet Training will set up a meeting for you with a local Designated Pilot Examiner. The examiner will then look over all of your documentation and issue your temporary FAA pilot license.
- Then you must complete a flight review with one of our instructor pilots who will endorse your logbook. This will activate your FAA pilot license. Note: This will only convert your license to a US pilot license issued on the basis of your foreign pilot license, therefore any restrictions you have on your foreign license (example: “no night flights authorized”) will carry over to your converted US/FAA License.
Note for UK pilots: The Data Protection Act now requires your permission for the CAA to release any information to the FAA. Please check with the appropriate authorities (CAA) before submitting your 61-75 form to the FAA.
